Lyme Regis
Lyme Regis is the most westerly town in Dorset. Lyme Regis is best known for the Cobb, a protective harbour wall built during the early years of the port. There's also a fourteenth century watermill.
You'll find a good selection of shops in the town centre and various leisure activitie.. There are some lovely walks along the Cobb and throughout the season there is a jazz festival in Lyme Regis and the area is well known for water sports and boat trips. This is a very attractive resort with lots of promenade cafes and bars.
Lyme Regis is featured in two of Jane Austen's novels. She also stayed in the resort.
