CARLOTTA, the loveable long-eared donkey, will be f the star attractions at an event in Lytchett Minster in December She’ll be joined by several other donkeys, who until recently were regulars at Goldy’s Farm Shop in neighbouring Lytchett Matravers. Since the shock closure of the award-winning farm shop, which had a visit from the Queen only five months ago, donkey sanctuary boss Mark Bartlett has been inundated with calls. “So many people have been enquiring about the donkeys and worrying about what has happened to them,” he said. “This event is to enable people who visited them regularly to see them again.” Mr Bartlett, who runs a small sanctuary in Lytchett Matravers, said: “We have ten donkeys including a new youngster who, strangely enough, has a cross on his back and came to the rescue centre with a genuine name of Jesus. “He has now settled in and is a perfect companion for the old donkey Barney.” Carlotta and other donkeys will be at the event at Lytchett Minster Church Hall, taking place between 11am-4pm on December 12. Her appearance will coincide with an exhibition by local artist Carol Miller, a craft fair and a visit by Santa Entrance is £3, with profits going towards the care of the donkeys. |
