High speed Police Chase inSherborne Police in Sherborne are appealing for witnesses and in particular motorists to come forward in confidence after a motor car was followed at high speed by a Police vehicle – with one man being arrested. Between 1.30pm and 2pm on Monday, 14 December 2009, a marked Dorset Police vehicle followed a dark coloured motor car at high speed from Horsecastles in Sherborne then along the A30 road to Yeovil and into Lyde Road in Yeovil. Police Constable Anthony Elswood, of Sherborne police station said: “I am appealing for witnesses to come forward who saw this vehicle being driven at speed in these areas. “I’d also like to hear from those motorists who had to take evasive action due to the manner of driving of the dark coloured motor car, and from anyone who saw the male driver and either recognised him or who can give a good description of him.” A man from the Yeovil area in his twenties was arrested in connection with the incident and he has since been released on police bail without charge while enquiries continue.
